It is mostly in movies that a person smells like a flower, particularly actresses. In reality, perfumes and deodorants are the ones behind the charming odor of the body. Deodorants and perfumes, both are widely used. In this blog, Rubina Ratnakar explains the difference between deodorants and perfumes.
Perfumes and deodorants are differentiated on the basis of the percentage of a blend of perfume present in the liquid. For example, a perfume contains 15-20% oil in alcohol concentrated for this purpose and a deodorant contains 2 to 3% solution in mild alcohol.
One basic difference between a perfume and a deodorant is that a perfume can be sprayed on your body and your dress as well. On the other hand, a deodorant is sprayed on the body to get rid of body odor and microbes.
As the function suggests, the perfume will help you in smelling good whereas a deodorant will help you in getting rid of the body odor.
If we compare them on the basis of their price, perfume is costlier than a deodorant.
You can see that perfume comes in beautiful glass bottles giving it a luxurious look. On the other hand, deodorant comes in tin cans and many other types.
As perfume is made in concentrated alcohol, even small amounts of perfume can last for a long time. On the other hand, deodorants need to be applied in more quantity and fade away easily.
There are some specific points where you can apply perfume. They are the wrist, neck, and back of the ear. There is no such thing as deodorants you can apply them anywhere you want.
One difference that is very clear is that perfumes are applied on special occasions and deodorant can be applied daily.
One should choose his preference keeping in mind all these points.
